Seniors, make sure you sign up for make up portraits if you need one!

Brian Carr, DHS IB Class of 2025, stopped by while home for fall break to share how things are going at the University of Alabama at Huntsville. He’s majoring in aerospace engineering with a minor in astrophysics, part of the honors program, and thriving — his lowest grade is a 95!
Brian entered college with 44 credit hours from his IB & AP courses (which UAH capped at 34), and says IB prepared him well:
“I literally wrote over 5,000 words this week.”
He had the highest grade on his most recent English paper and credits the Extended Essay for helping him tackle writing across all subjects. We love hearing success stories from our alumni! 🖤💛

Our 9th grade Pre-IB students wrapped up their Shakespeare unit in style! 🎭 They enjoyed a live production of Romeo and Juliet, learned about the history of swords with Mr. Jensen (plus a live sword-fighting demo!), and capped off the day with a high-energy Just Dance competition. What an amazing way to kick off Thanksgiving break! 🍂✨

Math meets creativity on the Warrior math hall! 🎉 Mrs. Stubblefield’s Algebra I Honors class had a blast with ‘Turkey in the Oven,’ while her DE Precalculus students battled it out in Log Wars. Learning + fun = success! 🦃📐

Our IB juniors and seniors let the good times roll in New Orleans! 🎭✨ Students toured Tulane’s campus, learned about the application process at a selective university, explored Audubon Park, and enjoyed beignets and sunshine in City Park. We were even joined for lunch by a Davidson IB graduate now thriving at Tulane! A perfect day to dream big and spend time together.

Our 10th grade EPIC students took flight today at FlightWorks! 🚀 They explored aircraft design and aerodynamics, toured one of only FIVE final assembly lines in the world, tested their skills in a virtual flight simulator, and got hands-on with aviation learning in the classroom. What an incredible experience!

A big shoutout to our amazing cafeteria team for serving up a delicious Thanksgiving-inspired lunch today! 🍂🦃 Our students loved every bite—thank you for making this day extra special!

Recently, Mr. Williams, Ms. Henley, and Mr. Richardson inspired our juniors by sharing why the ACT matters 📚, what to expect on March 10 when all juniors take the test 🗓️, and how ACT Incentives will reward their hard work! We’re excited to see our students rise to the challenge and make the most of this important opportunity.

They did it AGAIN! 🎉 Our Scholars Bowl team remains UNDEFEATED after today’s competition! We can’t wait to see how they finish strong on December 12—let’s go Warriors! 🖤💛
