Attention incoming 9th grade students!

Recent graduates Brian Carr and Thien Ma, along with Sr. Sariah Hossain, Jr. Zander Snyman and several incoming freshmen traveled to the nation's capital for the National History Day Competition on the University of Maryland campus in College Park, MD.
Sariah Hossain, Brian Carr, and Thien Ma were awarded the Alabama Affiliate Award in the Senior Division for their project on the Capitol Crawl, a 1990 disability rights protest. Activists crawled up the 83 steps of the US Capitol Building to advocate for the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Fifty-plus students and teachers from across Alabama traveled to Washington D. C. to showcase their research alongside students from all over the nation. They got to meet Sen. Katie Brit and Rep. Shomari Figures and to visit many monuments and museums learning more about our nation’s history!
